These are some of the ill effects resulting from drawing "safe," one-party-dominant legislative and congressional districts instead of competitive districts. In competitive districts, party registration numbers are close enough that either party has an opportunity to win elections.
Competitive districts give voters a real choice.
Hear from experts in the non-partisan Arizona Competitive Districts Coalition about how we are creating a constituency for competition. We can meet all Voting Rights Act requirements and ensure ten to 12 competitive legislative districts, plus four or more congressional districts.
